Ariana McLaughlin is a still and video photographer and a visual problem solver.
Her current focus is on editorial & commercial photography. She particularly enjoys working with ethically-led companies to produce and shoot editorial and advertising campaigns with a consistent and compelling visual voice.
During her last semester at the globally recognized photojournalism program at Western Kentucky University, she was a nominee for The Santa Fe Prize for her work documenting the effects of sexualized advertising on young girls.
Her collaborative work as a photo editor received an Award of Excellence for Print Newspaper Visual Editing in 2017, as well as team awards in Pictures of the Year International (POYi) in Print Newspaper Visual Editing, 2017-2019, SPD 49 Magazine of the Year, the New York magazine team in 2014, & was 1 of 100 photographer's during the Eddie Adams Workshop in 2011.
Ariana started her professional photography career at The Daily Iowan in 2007, shooting the presidential campaigns in Iowa. Her national career began at CNN in 2010 as CNN’s first online photo editor.
She also enjoys public speaking and teaching university students and mentoring creatives.
